Seta back element fail.....repairable?

Have a 2004 996 turbo. Seat back element has failed.
Question: How does one remove the seat back foam/element assy?
: Once removed, can I repair the damaged wire or do I have to replace the foam / element assy ? Replacement part is just over $200.00
Any input greatly appreciated.

fpb111 is infamous around these parts
Did you figure this out yet. It has been awhile. As I remember the bottom of the center section pulls away and slide it up to remove it. You will have to unbolt the seat to get to the connection(s) for the heaters and slide the connector out from under the bottom.

I have a couple of heated black memory seats that I am parting out. PM me if you are interested in any parts.

Ended up buying a new element/ foam assy from the dealer, removed the seat from the car and had a local upholstery shop install the new part. Repaired the old part for a spare.
