We had some drag runs in Bahrain during GulfRun, The tip 997tt took home the drag trophy with a 11.80. I will find the time slips and post em.


There were also some 'other' cars there:

 

12.5 @ 120 mph.

My reaction time blow'd(1st drag race) something around a .450

Also need to practice my launches. AWD are a SOB. lol

What gear is everybody in at the 1/4? I was in 4th every run.

 

Aso, can you please note if your cars were 6speed or tip?

yes it was at Norwalk. temp was probably 85 - 90 degrees.

 

That is fast. I thought that an 11.4 floated around in a mag time pre-release.

 

Under 12, over 120mph is what is average for a well driven 997TT. Your friend's 11.6 is crazy and that 0.090 reaction is just off the hook!!! Congrats to him!

 

I was at the track with a 997TT a couple of weeks ago, it was a 6speed and he was running in the 12.3 range at 118 mph. It looks like that is a world record as I have seen several run and no one even close to those times!

 

lol Jamie gxlex/Van cant drive that thing even close to its potential, before he left i wanted to take a turn at rowing thru the gears so he could go home with a decent timeslip. I wish he and alex would come out this friday.

 

I wasn't insinuating 997TT's are slow, but I have seen others run and they ran about the same, maybe a hair quicker but not much. I mean how much quicker can they be stock? My GT2 only ran like 11.90 at 120 before I had the computer done and I think it has 460 hp stock and that would probably give it a better hp to weight ratio than the 997TT as the GT2 is rear wheel drive and much lighter, and I am a decent driver. Granted I only made 3 or 4 pass's to get a baseline before I had the computer done, I still think a high 11.70 or low 11.80 is all it had in it stock with a perfect run! A stock 997TT would probably run the same at the very best or slower stock IMO.

 

hey I take offense to that statement ......yeah I suck at the track and I will try to come out Friday to check everyone out. But probably won't be running.

 

I thought you drove pretty well! If you look at some of the times the all wheel drive cars run you are not that far off. I know Chris's car probably has more hp than yours and he is an excellent driver and he will tell you himself its hard to launch the all wheel drive cars! Once you learn the launch techinique for your car you will pick up a few tenths and be into the 11's.

 

where is your / your friend's time slip Luis?

Can you post that here if 11.6 with a correct 11.1 is accurate.
