Looking at how the 996TT depreciate, I am not at all surprise to see history repeating on 997TT...

Lot lower depreciation that way

Mike
To get a european license plate you need to pay taxes that it will put the car on the same price of the european market, if not higher.
You are really lucky with the cars price and warranty (5 years vs 2 years), but on the other hand we have autobahns to melt our cars...

Hey guys I never post because I am just a drooling idiot looking at your cars, but I think the reason behind the difference between German prices and U.S prices is that Euro/German laws are strict when it comes to licenses and taxes and I think a lot of the 220 u are paying is for taxes.. thats what happens when you don't live in a truly capitalistic society

I thought most of Europe had a rule that if you OWNED the car for more then 6 months in another country you got a significant tax discount

I have a neighbor who is doing this in Croatia and said most of europe is the same way.

Someone could always offer the seller $4k over to steal the car away! $105 for that car still a steal?

Why is this a steal? He couldn't get anything above $100,000. That must tell you something.

Recall the 996TT values? They tanked after one year. The 997 is no different.

There appears to be the pattern that Turbo buyers are interested in the flavor of the month mentality and buy their cars to sample the power trip it provides. The resale market is then populated by those who cannot afford to pay the high new pricing and refuse to acknowledge the premium (if there is one) in a Turbo. The GT3/RS on the other hand are attracting the hardcore drivers with the means to buy one at even a premium (depending to patience level and mind over heart conflict) and there is still the heart ruling the conflict over price to gratify the desire to own one even if used.
