997 turbo side sills
Ran over some road debris on my 07 911TT. It tore a tennis ball size chunk from side sill/rocker drivers side, just in front of the rear wheel. In doing so, it pushed the entire sill loose (piece from front to rear wheel) popping the plastic rivets mostly out. Bottom line, it definitely needs replacement. I can easily have local body shop order another one from Porsche, paint match and have installed by insurance. But I kinda like the techart side sills Ive seen pics of here on this site. ???? Do these side sills directly bolt on as replacements for the factory sills? Is the piece Im referring to known as the sill or as the rocker?? It wraps underneath the body and bolts to the undercarriage and also uses plactic rivets to attach to the topside body. Was thinking since it needed replacement anyway, Id go to some aftermarket piece and clearbra after painting. Any advice????
Rocker panels are the big part that attach to the body , Sills are inside , carbon or s/s
Use the pattern from expel for your rocker panels, there longer and are one piece, and will replace the factory film on the front portion of the rear fender.
You will have to wait a few weeks after paint before you can put the clearsheild film on
