Rear spoiler removal...

I've been struggling for the entire afternoon trying to remove my rear spoiler. I've used the the spanner tool and spun the cylinder, but nothing happens. Anyone have any hints?

Since no one responded...I thought I'd respnd myself.

Just an FYI. Spanner wrench from 996 turbo does not fit 997...the hydraulic tubing diameter is bigger on the 997, and the wrench will not fit. The wrench is $80 from Suncoast.

Have you tried asking the dealership? Sometimes you may be able to get some help from a helpful technician.

My relationship with the dealership was strained when they refused to admit that my driver side rear wheel was damaged when they mounted a new tire.

I actually think I need to remove the wing a little more frequently as I live in an area that has very hard water. Even after using a deionizer, the water spots form under the spoiler and rear deck lid. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy the spanner so I can keep that area well waxed.

Just let my wife back it out of the garage..... she usually knocks a few parts off. I could make a special request.
