Erik @ Carquip is infamous around these parts
While I am sure that the S will be something special to look at, why all the hype? The current turbo is greatest car on the planet. Isn't that enough? Stupid question, I know we always want more.

Guys an update on the 997 Turbo S from my dealer and prices for the GT2. Im just copying his email here. prices US$1 - 3.67AED

As per your explanation of the Turbo S, you are exactly right. This is the proceedings for the model to come in the future years, a pin point time we don not yet know…

As the GT2 has just been released we are probably going to see a Turbo S around 2010 I expect. It can be ordered from now by placing a 10,000 AED down payment on the vehicle and we would then specify all the details and options for the car once it is physically released.

As for the GTS; it is based on a Cayenne S with 405bhp (20 horsepower increase), full Turbo body kit and sports exhaust system. The starting price for the vehicle is 272,500 AED and must be ordered from the factory also. You are looking approximately 18 months delivery on this vehicle.

The GT2 is available to order but again you are looking approximately 18 months for the car as well. The car has just recently been released last week and orders now are being delivered. The starting price for the GT2 is 645,800 AED and can be selected in anyway possible.

The whole idea behind the GT2 and the Turbo S is as follows: the GT2 is primarily edging towards a track car with lightweight bucket seats, racing harness and ONLY available in manual transmission. The car is only available in limited production and cars will normally be used on track, although also capable of road use. The idea behind the car is highest level of racing precision available on road.

The Turbo S is however a feature car similar to GTS in a way ( they release a car to give the model range one last model as an exit-something that people will keep for years and years as the pinnacle of the range. The Turbo S is the highest level of 911 you could purchase bar the GT range.) The car can be ordered in both manual or tiptronic gearboxes and again exact to customer specification. This would be used everyday if need be and then put on track at anytime without necessary modifications or set up changes.

Price difference being:

·911 Turbo – 451,100 AED
·911 GT2 - 645,800 AED
