Boy..you have big cojones to ask for a discount on a car that's being jacked up $$$ everywhere else. I would've gladly paid MSRP. Oh well...

Or he didn't understand what was being offered to him. I doubt ANY dealer will let a 7GT2 go at MSRP let alone at a discount...

Not sure where your dealer is (NYC area I assume), but my dealer also has one coming in which isn't spoken for...yet. They're about 30 minutes away from NYC and only looking to mark it up about $30k... PM me if you want their contact info for it... Would love to grab it for myself, but construction on my new home is my money pit at the moment..

we have a BMW dealer, so we have a dealer to dealer discount on every brand, every car... well, almost every car. that + 2nd tt in 2 months that's how I got 10% discount for tt. He still does a little discount as a gesture, but it's not as good as tt. I'm sure I can get the same after a while, but it's just not now.

Hell get the TT and the GT2, just resell the GT2 over MSRP and pocket the difference. And you still get to get that nice discount on the TT and your dealer sells 2 cars instead of one, though I dont see what they gain from letting it go at MSRP, but if they want to thats their problem.

If the dealer knew he was going to flip it, or if he did flip it he would lose the relationship. It's good of the dealer to offer it to him, he wouldn't otherwise.

yeah I could do that, but that only damages relations for a few bucks and i couldn't get any discount anymore from Porsche

i don't think it would worth the price difference. with HUGE taxes over here, it would be just ridicilous. (With taxes, my discounted tt came about 275k euro, gt2 regular price is about 350k euro. I could get it about 330-340k)

next time I hope

Well congratulations on another TT. I am surprised that you turned down an offer of purchase. Deal or no deal. There are many financially fortunate enough members on here that would have jumped at the chance even for that offer by the dealer.

I am just surprised that as a current TT owner you seem to have such limited knowledge of the opportunity with which you were offered.

I'm curious what the price difference between the two models would have been had you chosen to pick up the gt2. I know it has to be over 100k. Ultimately your paying for the performance difference between the two. Essentially couldn't the tt be a much better performance car than the gt2 for half that?
