Plenum Question --How much time to "adapt" ?

We have sold 83 997 Turbo plenums to date and have received only positive reviews, many of which have been dyno substantiated. <O></O>

The 997 Turbo has a very unique electronic system that seems to have a mind of its own. We have seen power gains from 26 to 42 horsepower depending on the car, mods and driver. The 997 Turbo requires an exceptional amount of time for the DME to “adapt” to the increase air flow provided by the IPD plenum. It also seems that the cars that are driven harder tend to be realizing greater gains. The gains may vary but there are definite gains from the IPD plenum. Again, the plenums are the single best performance mod you can possible install on a late model Porsche when it comes to bang for the buck. <O></O>

Below is the most recent dyno test from an independent customer who did a baseline test then drove the cars until the DME was fully adapted. He is scheduled to dyno the car again after driving some more miles just to see if there are any other additional improvements

I just got my plenum , drove home in traffic and can't comment on it yet . I just would like to follow your recommendations as to a driving style or timeline to adapt . Is there anything I ought to look for or specific test where I might see the difference more pronounced?
PS . Software on my ECU is GIAC.

You should try to drive your car aggressively for the first 50 or so miles and after that, continue to drive "hard." That will allow your ECU to adapt to the plenum. It definitely would be different for you because of your GIAC software.
Even when you put higher octane gas it takes up to 20 minutes before I feel the full effect (compared to 91 octane in CA). The ECU does not do it immediately but its more gradual. Driving the car hard can speed up the process a bit. If I am not pushing the car much its a total waste of money IMO (but thats usually not the case).
Yep --I agree (jason and gradyex).
It's somewhat out of character for me to zoom around trying to mesh my ECU to the plenum but I do notice it responding .
It's kinda interesting to bond with the machine in this manner and watch it respond .
