Figured I'd create a new GT-R-bs thread.

 

Honestly thats what it seems like. Look how sad it is that EVEN ROAD AND TRACK got bit by the bug, and just did a test between the z06, turbo, and gtr. I love the gtr, and I am very impressed by it, and in all honesty it is beating both cars in most performance numbers and everything. BUT a porsche is a porsche, quality of the gtr is just not there that the porsche has. The z06 is a brute muscle car, and amazing at that. It comes down to different strokes for different folks. You want a 2+2 with awd and status, pick the porsche. You want a 2+2 with awd, not much status but AMAZING bank for buck, get the gtr. If you want a muscled up corvette, 2 seater, you know where to go. I just must say one thing, I fear the tuners that get ahold of the gtr b/c nissans history with mods and turbo cars lol, oh man what a beast it shall be.

The GT2 answers all skeptics. I admit the GT-R is a cool car, and for the money it's great but I couldn't justify paying that much when I could get a really nice Porsche for the same $$$

I dont own a tt, but am hopefully going to get into a 997 tt in the next year. I see all these zo6 vs tt comparisons. Now throw in the gt r for good measure. I just do not get it. I have owned a modded M3, modded S4, My dd is a 07 denali, I have a new turbo diesel truck modded, blah blah. Ok, I also own a 92 mustang (streetable) with over 50 grand in it. 580 rwhp. This car will crush most vettes I see, plus tt. It is a beaset! SO frikn what! Imo, it is not even in the ballpark as a tt. To me the 997tt should be in comp to Lambos, fcars and others. NOT vettes! Or Mustangs or gt r's. When was speed the the gold standard only, for comparison? Pull up to a nice restaurant to valet in a vette, yippee. Pull up in a white modded 997tt or 996tt. Check the different reactions, there is a reason, ones a porsche and one says CHEVY. Gold chain vs Patek Philippe.. Sorry if I have offended anyone I just dont get it..

Couldnt agree more! I have an early gtr (r32) heavily modded, as well as a 997tt. The cars are different, chalk and cheese! I would imagine the same for the R35gtr. The cars have different functions and serve different purposes in my garage. I love them both, and if I had to part with one.......well I would keep the P car !!! It just does so many things well as opposed to just one or two....

 

Relax you three. It was merely a mockery of the other bazillion threads on the subject. All in good fun.

 

Maybe 6speed can open up another section catering to a debate style of which car du jour is defeating the 997tt.

 

each has its place, one a nissan the other a porsche if that means anything to you. would run out and buy a modded mustang just because it out perfomed your p-car.....
