Pics: Star Attraction - Porsche Turbo (Supporting Cast HRE P40)
Thanks everyone!
Wheels are HRE P40, 19 inches.
The car is not lowered, but I am scheming about Bilstein Damptronics PSS10 and lowering about 1 inch or so.
Yes this wheel in black with a red car is also very beautiful! In fact someone on this forum has that combination--TurboVic (?) is that you?
I think there are 2 "color schemes" to a red car:
a. non black out with silver wheels, more traditional old-fart
look
b. black out: tinted, smoked lens, black wheels, etc, total Darth Vader.
I chose a but could certainly understand if you prefer b. Actually what I would REALLY REALLY love to try is that graphite gray matte or textured finish version of this wheel. Eclou has that color wheel (PES GP7) with his Guards Turbo and I can't take my eyes off it. Hmm, I wonder if HRE --hello anyone from HRE reading this?-- would lend me a set for picture taking.
Thanks again for the kind comments.

Can -
I like the brushed wheel over all the other choices even on a red car where many opt for the black wheel . What I like about the brushed is the texture of the finish which I feel gives a hand made appearance . One can't see it in the photo but up close in person I can't see anything else.
Edit -
I looked for a close up of my wheel and even though the photo was taken at dusk if one zooms in he can see the texture of the HRE brushed finish (mine are the C20 but his P40's have the same texture on a different wheel) . Up close one can really see the detail.

BTW --your car looks great can . Did you get the Tubi? I did send you some sound clips awhile back but had not heard back from you on whether you opted to go with the exhaust or not.,
Mike,
You got PM.
yrralis1,
Yes Brushed Aluminum finish is also very nice. dkreidel has this finish on his White Turbo with HRE P40 and I've seen it in person: it looks fantastic!! The very first HRE P40 I saw, before hardly anyone knew about the wheel, was one with Brushed finish. It is brighter and more shiny than the Silver Powder Coated that I decided on. Both finishes are beautiful to me in different ways.
Comment on old fart look was sort of tongue-in-cheek as that was the direction I chose. I understand what you mean.
Funny you asked about your TUBI clips; I have all 5 of them on my desktop and was just listening to them last week. Thanks so much, they are the most complete that I've heard.
It is down to TUBI vs. AWE, and I am actually arranging to audition the TUBI on dkreidel's car before making my decision. The problem is, from the video clips I seem to like BOTH of them, for different reasons!!
The AWE has a powerful and attractive low freq. rumbling, the TUBI has a nicely aggressive sound that is higher in freq. I am an over-the-top audiophile so this decision is particularly important.
kush,
We have similar taste. Yes I like the concept of contrast. For example I LOVE silver wheels on black cars. This is of course strictly personal preference.
Vic,
Ah don't be silly. From one Guards man to another, from one HRE P40 comrade to another: Post on my thread as you please! I am only an amateur photographer; you won't hurt my feelings or my livelihood. Seriously, car photography would be so boring for me if I don't get to share the shots with other OCD Porsche nuts on the forums. (And God be my witness, a lot of you guys here qualify, in a BIG WAY. You know who you are.
)
BTW, doesn't your car have the GMG World Challenge package? Wasn't this reviewed on Excellence? I vaguely recall (correct me if I am wrong) that it was, except that there didn't seem to be a driving impression, like with the impressive Werks Turbo review in the last issue http://www.excellence-mag.com/art1/art1p1.html.
If yes, I would love to see your impression/review. Have you posted your impression?
