Brand new to forum...
I'm a longtime member over @ MBWorld.org and I've had an itch for a fast convertible for awhile now (as a contrast to my heavily modified E55) and have been flip flopping back and forth between a '07 SL65 and a new spec 997TT cab. Two totally different cars, but they both fit my two basic criteria...fast and topless.

I did the whole spec sheet on the TT cab and ended up getting a stiffy on a Meteor Grey/Carrera Red combination with full CF treatment and only minor mods after that (Champion Motorsports WERKS front CF lip, rear CF diffuser, and CF wing and possibly an AWE tune).
My question(s) are the following:
1. I've been told that the build time is about 4.5 months. Is this a realistic time frame?
2. I'd like to delete the rear seats. Can this be requested?
3. What do you think of these wheels on the cab (I'm sticking with 19"s)? I've had a good experience on other wheels from CCW so I'm familiar with their quality and construction.

Thanks ahead of time for any responses. I'll be heading to my local Porsche dealer to look at the Meteor color against the GT Silver next week. I'd like to see the prospective exterior color during the day and contrasted with another silver color.

Welcome aboard . I don't know some of the answers but I will comment on the wheels . I see that your location is Tampa and in the Florida rain climate I would be concerned about ANY reverse lip wheel . Water in heavu downpour may cause vibration.
Many in the forum have chosen monoblock wheels . I have chosen a three piece wheel but if you look closely you will see that it has a "step" in the lip . I face not one drop of vibration in rain .
Good luck on the car search , whichever you decide on and once again welcome to the 6.

Thanks for the heads up...I've actually been stuck in the rain in my E55 with the CCW and luckily didn't seem to be maligned by any vibration...I was more concerned with the fact I have BFG drag radials on the rear wheels at the time. I know what you mean about a downpour in Florida and luckily I can limit this or the SL65 to a weekend and/or good weather car (my DD is a Cadillac Deville).

Hey there...Were big supporters of MBworld and now welcome to the 6....
Great spec for the car. love the color combo.
Those wheels look really similar to the Champion Motorsport RS98s

YRRALIS1 is right about the water problem on a reverse lip multi piece wheel. Choosing one with a step lip would solve that problem and therefor not cause any vibration during heavy water conditions...
Please feel free to PM me or shoot me an email if you have any further questions.
