I cannot understand the craze about Techart wheels. They are selling cast wheels for the price of forged wheels (not to mention they look hideous). Techart's look downright cheap in comparison to HRE or Iforged. Do people not understand the difference between cast and forged or what

I suppose that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think the Techart wheels look great and I have received many compliments on them. I understand that they aren't your cup of tea and respect that. But not everryone is going to share your opinion. And as far as "cast" vs. "forged" wheels, most people make the decision on aftermarket wheels based on looks, not performance. Techart's sales record kind of discredits your theory that they are so "hideous." A lot of people think they look good including myself.

I want to move on from my Techart wheels because I am currently in the process of getting my car modified (exhaust, ECU, plenum and pulley system) so I have performance on my mind. Otherwise, I would have been happy to stay with the Techart wheels. I have enjoyed having them on the car for the past 5 months.

If you're moving on based on performance, then I'd probably say go with a lightweight 19" wheel, but it looks like you've got your eyes on 20". At the least, wait until after you've done your above mentioned mods, then go with something lighter. Pretty much guaranteed that you'll feel a difference. Well depends on how much lighter they are, but anything lighter by 2-3lbs per wheel and you should......
