Question About Removing Front Air Intakes

Are the front air intakes easily removable for painting?

Exactly. I want painted lowers on the white TT I am ordering but, as of now, XAJ (painted rocker panels) are available but CNE (painted spoiler lip) and painted (lower rear apron) are not. DAJ (exterior package painted) is available and include all lowers (rockers, front and rear), but also adds "painted front air intakes left/right/center." I don't like the all white front look, so I was trying to figure out whether I should order the rockers painted and paint the front and rear lowers white OR order DAJ and have the front intake vanes painted black. Hopefully, Porsche will straighten this out and my worries will be for naught.

Ah, no don't bother ordering DAJ because these vanes are crinkly black plastic and would look bad painted IMHO (too glossy)..it would be easier to just have your front/rear trim pieces painted after you've taken delivery. Do it before you even drive the car because as soon as you drive the car, those pieces get "coated" with grease, etc. Paint shops would rather use a completely fresh piece because the paint adheres better. I had to buy all new front and rear trim pieces just to paint them. It cost me $300 to get both trim pieces painted. Go ahead and order the rocker panels painted from the factory. FYI, I replaced mine with the GT2 rockers and had those painted for $300 as well.

I'm sure Porsche will get their act together and start offering the front lip/rear painted. Not sure why they removed these options.
