Rear tire jack placement..and strange ft tire wear with all wheel drive

Wanted to change rear tires on '07 turbo. Noticed for front tire removal there is a place to put the jack on the frame near the fr wheel. But in the rear, there is only a metal circle maybe less than 2" in diameter near the rear tire. Is this where the jack goes? Not sure about some of these lifts at tire shops, that run along the bottom of the frame, seems like that would tear up the plastic.

And too, rear tires have 18K and are beginning to slip a bit on acceleration. But now the fronts are grapping and wearing faster than fronts on my rear wheel M3. With the M3, rear tires went out at 15K miles and fronts at 40K. With this turbo, if I keep the rears on much longer, the fronts will be at about the same tread depth as the rear in another 5-8K miles.

Here's where the owner's manual says the jack points are. Rear should be simlar to front with an area with a slot in it. Many use jack pads or hockey pucks between the jack and the jack point on the frame.

Thanks, I see the holes behind the front and ahead of the rear tire. Are there suppose to be rubber plugs in the holes. Seems to show that in the diagram you sent.

Sure appreciate the info.....what owner's manual shows that photo?? Mine sure doesn't. Was surprised to find one wheel nut needed a key socket which was found next to the tool kit. The tool kit has a 13 and 10 mm open end wrench with a long 6pt ~5mm 6-point socket. Do you know why these are in the tool kit???

BTW John, just as an FYI.....you can jack up a 997 from the rear jacking point and lift the front wheels off the ground at the same time. When I learned this little trick, I halved my winter wheel swapover jacking times!
