Carlos,

I think your wheels look great man. Good luck with your business. We just have some members that are biased towards certain brands, that's all. Don't let that get to you or take it personally. I think your wheels will do well.

cgmmny is infamous around these parts
I browse this forum for informational purposes and haven’t really posted. But I had to chime in just this once. IMHO, I strongly agree that industry certifications and safety data regarding rims and tires is very important. However, it seems that most rim manufactures don't make this data readily available.

<O</OI think if any of you are actually interested in "purchasing" rims from any rim manufacture, then you have every right to this data and it should be privately provided to you. Otherwise, any inquiry you make on an internet forum, whether genuine or not, merits a level of suspicion and is questionable. Ask for the data to PM’d to you and not to be posted.

<O</OWith that being said, some forum control has to be exercised especially if this is such a hot topic. For instance, maybe moderators should require that “all” wheel manufactures provide industry certification and/or safety data prior to having the privilege of introducing or advertising their rims on the forum. This requirement may be stringent but at least you have a set list of rim manufactures that adhere to some set of safety standards, which in turn may provide you all with some level of comfort when making your next aftermarket rim purchase.

<O</OAgain, just my .002<O</O

Good point and idea, seems logical to me.

Your suggestion is quite logical. However, unlike Germany's TUV and Japan's JWL/VIA, there is no established US legal standard for testing and no certification at all. So I doubt the moderators would want to weigh in on this. But I believe your idea has merit and that wheel manufacturers should either publicly or privately provide independent third party test data based upon current SAE test standards. These are the same ones used by the OEMs. These tests are actually relatively inexpensive, so you don't have to be a "big wheel company" to afford them. In the short term, such test data might actually provide "street cred" to companies that willingly provide it.
In the end, it's "Caveat Emptor". Wheel buyers should familiarize themselves with the standards and ask probing questions about safety and testing. If most do, it won't be long before all the wheel companies comply.
