Was the aluminum center console included on the option list (option XCK) that comes on the pre-printed sticker?

Cheers
I am confused...like jhbrennan said, why not just look for the option code? A sticker with your options should be on your service manual if you lost your window sticker.

Yup. The 997 Turbo standard shifter throw was reduced (think 15%) vs the 996 turbo & the sport shifter is further reduced from there so there should be a big difference.

Is it worth getting the OEM Porsche short shifter?

I had one in my old M car and it was notchy and sometimes did not easily slide into gear which almost made me mishift sometimes.

Thanks for any feedback.

NIGHT AND DAY difference. You can get your porsche dealer to install the same short shifter as comes from the factory-- BUT I would bet it will cost you more. Frankly porsche as a car maker doesn't make the best short shifter--my brother has a 07 Z06 and, I hate to say this, but the box is short and smoother.(I hate GM)

Sounds like the trim guys at the factory were asleep. I'm sure there are many more examples of "missing" options. How does one authenticate a car if the option list is different than what is actually on the car?

Scroll down and you'll see the OEM part and the B&M part. Search is your friend if you want to read all the opinions on these two parts.

I had a B&M on my C5 Z06 before, I LOVE the short throws. But it was really notchy and required alot of effort to shift, also to move from side to side was really stiff as well making it hard to get into reverse. Is it different on the Porsche?
I just installed the B&M on mine last week and it took me about an hour and half. I love it!!!
