Does PSM intervene even if dash light does not flicker?

I have PCCBs. I am eating rear pads faster than the fronts on the track, which always seemed weird to me. Mechanic is speculating that PSM may be intervening. But I NEVER see the light flashing or feel the intervention (other than when I REALLY screw up and PSM helps me with my "heroic" saves).

He further speculated (and is trying to clarify) that maybe when in PTM (traction control) mode it doesn't flicker, and it only flickers in full-on stability mode. The thought is that, with my power mods, the brakes are "cooking themselves" trying to avoid wheelspin. I would have thought it would cut boost/throttle (or throw the TQ to the front wheels) and not apply brakes if car is otherwise pointing in right direction....

Anyone have any thoughts/perspectives?

Thanks!

This is common. It has to do with the electronic braking bias and the ptm and the psm. The rear brakes are the primary stabilizer used by the 3 above. Usually the light doesnt come on until you perform some kind of "Oh Sh*t" maneuver, but by that point the last thing I am looking at is the dash...

got the car a few degrees sideways accelerating out of a corner and lights did not come on despite the safety features jumping in.

Thanks guys. If I were a real man, I guess I'd turn off PSM and build my skills. But since I'm not, I'll just keep burning pads.

Funny thing is that I on short Auto-X type courses I have turned PSM off and didn't notice a big diff in driving dynamics (until I spun).
