I had installed a Cargraphic (loud) exhaust on my car, and I have to say I couldn't tell any difference after the subsequent installation of the plenum. I've been told a before and after dyno run would have validated my expenditure, but it's all water (money) over the dam as far as I'm concerned.

The IPD was not the right next purchase if your only other mod was the exhaust. There are some better parts "bang-for-your buck" wise than the IPD.

Blackbear, what do you know of ? for a $1000. that gives you a good bump in power other than the plenum?

997 Turbo Plenum

Greetings 6 Speeders,

Thanks for all the kind words of support above regarding the 997 Turbo IPD Plenum. One think to keep in mind is that the 997 Turbo requires an adaptation period unlike the 996 Turbo where the power gains are realized immediately. The IPD Plenum for 996 Turbo consistently puts down 30 to 35 hp and is still the best "bang for the buck" install whether you are installing it on a bone stock car or a heavily modified car.

The 997 Turbo on the other hand has proven to be unique from all the other plenum applications because the greatest performance gains have been consistently seen on slightly modified 997 Turbos. The new Turbo truly has a mind of it own (literally) and really compensates to the drivers driving style. It seems that the harder driven Turbo are producing more power. We have dyno tested almost a dozen 997 Turbos and have seen extreme ranges in power, both before and after the plenum installs. But the bottom line is that 30 to 35 horsepower on a stock 997 Turbo for about $1000 is solid "bang for your buck" performance. But having some additional free hp when you compliment the IPD plenum with other performance mods like exhaust and software is just another added bonus.

Our production has finally caught up with the 997 Turbo Plenum demand and these Plenums are all in stock and ready to ship. If you have any other questions or would like to place an order please feel free to give us a call at 714-545-1046.

Cheers,
Greg

I really hate to be negative but I find that 30-35hp increase on a otherwise stock tt is outrageous. I have researched this to the hilt and NO ONE is claiming that kind of increase. 10hp max, if that. However, Maybe I am not understanding this claim as written.

I can appreciate the skepticism as much as anyone since I tend to be one myself. We have tested the 997 Turbo Plenum ourselves and have seen it tested independently. It seems that most customers claim they can even feel the difference and feeling 10 to 15 horsepower on a Turbo is a challenging proposition at best. You need some substantial gains to give your butt dyno any noticeable performance improvements.

So many people are focused on the power but the torque and linear power band are really the highlight of the IPD plenums. Bottom line is, if you're on the fence you have nothing to loose because all the plenums come with a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee if you're not happy with the results.

I've attached an independent dyno for your viewing pleasure. Keep in mind that most of our best customers started as skeptical non-believers. We don't make any false claims or misrepresent our product in any way, shape or form unlike other manufacturers here. Thanks again for all your time and interest.

Cheers,
Greg

Just picked up my TT from C2 design in Tampa. Just had a chance to drive it home. Definately feel a difference. More responsive throttle. Also did the reverter valves and the GT2 side skirts. Subtle but nice. Cant wait for the car to addapt to the plenum. Will post findings.

Thanks for the reply. Just yesterday I talked with 2-3 of the big tuner names about this very mod. Frankly I don't know what to think.

Oh, just do it and get it behind you. It'll probably make more sense when you start adding real mods to your car.
