That Toro blower was such a wonderful thing to use. I blow dried the wheels first, drove a few blocks, and i now only had very little brown stuff. I wiped them off one more time, then blew the wheels again. The brown stuff were now totally gone. My wheels never looked so good!

my next dumb question: those Carbon Tech brake pads. Should I trust a regular tire shop to install for me or it's better to go to a Porsche specialist?

Glad I could be of help! Remember you could use it to dry the car as well, not just the wheels. Much faster and easier than drying towels.

Don't forget to wrap the tip with some duct tape to prevent accidental scraping of the car with the hard plastic tip. Also, cutting the nozzle in half makes the blower much more user friendly. As mentioned, it's proven, cheap, simple, and above all, it WORKS!

Re. the brake pads, my humble opinions: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE should you let a regular tire shop come within 2 feet of our precious baby, let alone install such an important component as the brake pads. Please find the best and most experienced Porsche-specific tuner shop. Ask this forum for recommendation for one in your area.
I once was forced to use a regular tire shop during an emergency; at the end of the transaction I was feeling both suicidal and homicidal. There lurk extreme idiotic morons in these tire shops!

Do it yourself. I just did rear pads on my GT3 and it took only ~15 minutes per side. All you need is 10mm hex for rear, front is easy as well as you do not need to remove caliper. There are instructions if you search on Rennlist or Renntech. I am no mechanic and it was easy.

OK, bought the leaf blower, the electric power washer, Mother's Powerballs (they were not cheap), and Carbotec pads, which will be installed by a Porsche specialist. All of a sudden, I became a car wash expert, except I still got a little slurry after the blow drying. But I guess that's something I can live with. Thank you for the help, and you guys were really costly

It's so much fun to think I've "made a difference" for a few people. I am glad to help you part with your $$$ and could help more. I notice that we already have the same wheel, look at my signature below to see the next 2 possible projects. I take time with each mod and "investigate" carefully, and could guarantee with 95% certainty you won't go wrong with either the Cargraphic exhaust or the Bilstein. They will transform your car.

on my car the brake dust is not the real issue, its when ever the cars rotors get wet from sitting in the rain or washing the car they rust up quick... then when you go to move the car you get the little puddle of rust water and brake dust mix on the barrel of the wheels.. very annoying... I guess its the rotors and theres nothing that can be done.. they rust up from the water...
