997 Turbo a supercar?

I would think the defining term ‘SuperCar’ would be any vehicle that can outperform 98% of all the vehicles available at the time of purchase. Since there are a hundred or so vehicles available and Porsche Turbo can outperform just about everyone of them on the street or track, then it’s quite safe to say … you have a SuperCar.
Not to knock what others have said, those are supercars too. You can’t ignore the finite differences between the Enzo and the Turbo, but that’s not considering all the models from the Enzo (and the like) all the way down to the Smart Car, Chery, Insight or Fit. Including all the vehicles between those selections you will find the Turbo comes in the top 3%. Some would also argue you’d have to take off all vehicles that are not a ‘production car’ and reclassifies them as ‘exotics’ or ‘specialty’ vehicles. “If” you subscribe to that labeling, this leave very few vehicles left that can perform at the levels the Turbo can. This furthers validates the Porsche Turbo as a “SuperCar”.
That’s my interpretation of what makes a SuperCar … and why the P-Car Turbo certainly qualifies!
