Any New 09 Turbo Coupes Delivered Yet?
Guys I'm in the same boat as you. I'm almost ready to say screw it, I can go buy an 07 or 08 with 1k miles and PCCB for less than 120K, thats 40 grand I'll save, in this economy thats alot to me. I'm going to look at one at a local dealer today....
I am sorry for everyones frustrations, although it makes me feel just a little bit better after being jerked around for 13 months on a 08. (which we just recieved August 1st) Seems like it is just one thing after another if its not the dealership its the manufacturer. Correct me if Im wrong, but dont these people do these thing for a living, EVERDAY?
For the most part service everywhere sucks, or maybe its just being in NYC that gives me that impression. But when there is a high demand you dont have to be courteous. When this bad economy lasts for a while, walk into a dealership and see if you are treated differently then you were when the economy was good.

Wow I can't believe this happens as much as it does! This same thing happened with my M Coupe and it sat down at the factory for over a month until "the epa paper work cleared." I know the pain you all are feeling.... don't worry it will be over soon enough.
new news, but might not be accurate-the owner of a dealership in long island called me at 6pm and is claiming that his cars were released and are on the way to the dealership from the port (the turbos of course) that totally is against all the info i got today, but i guess it is possible that a break occured during the day. i guess it would be possible-i guess the best thing to do is if you have a ny car, call your dealer in am to see if this is true-if it is, great-if it isn't, i would say that the chance that it ever gets released decreases by the day. hopefully, the dealer has accurate info
It's more a PCNA thing than anything else. The entire staff is only competent when things go as planned. When there's anything outside of the routine, they all turn into possums and play dead. Their inability to have an open dialogue, be forthcoming, share info, and easily gain our understanding and support on why things aren't going as planned on any level is pathetic!
Then again, there's not one reason for them to communicate with anyone about anything, as everyone accepts this behavior and waits ... and waits ... without holding someone accountable. Why? I got full disclosure from an appliance dealer when my new refrigerator was going to be three days late! How crazy is it that we can get better answers on a $3800.00 refrigerator delay than a $120,000.00+ car?
I didn't let them do it to me (search my earlier posts, I was reimbursed handsomely) and I plead with all of you to request an audience with your Regional Representative and demand an answer and compensation as it's completely unacceptable. If everyone does this, maybe in a few months/years we'll get a better, more forthcoming PCNA. We've got to try as the way it is now is completely unacceptable!
(Aaaah, yeah, I did get worked into a lather after reading this thread as it reminded me of the s*%t I went through when they stonewalled me too ... how could you tell???

well said-look, it is stupid for all of us to be straining to get bits of information about these cars. i have spoken with several people that i met on these boards in an attempt to gain more information. all of us operate in an intelligent and logical fashion, but dealing with the pcna machine is frustrating. the dealer, who i am sure is as frustratated as we are, has very little information to add. i know that we have all said it many times, but it is hard to understand why pcna doesn't have timely and frequent updates with their customers so as to disseminate accurate information to their customers. all of us who bought cars sold in the 5 green states have no completely accurate picture of when and if deliveries of the turbos will occur. another good question that hasn't been answered-what if you live in a green state (ny, california, rhode island, vermont, ct) and you buy your car from a non green state (live in ny but buy from nj dealer)-will you be able to register that car-in the past, you couldn't. i think the previous poster is correct-it is time to demandsome respect for our business (i have owned 11 porsches) from a regional rep. the way they treat us now is stupid-all they have to do is post or release some accurate info.
I feel for you folks that are still waiting for your car. I was in the same situation myself a couple years ago when waiting for my then yet to be delivered Turbo. Mine was held up at the port by PCNA due to a recalled defective latch assembly that had to be retrofitted to all incoming Turbos at port nationwide. My car was held up for just over two weeks before finally being released to the shipping company. My frustration was of course at PCNA for not being very proactive in keeping us customers informed about this recall issue. I had to practically badger the dealership, PCNA and everyone I could get ahold of just to get updates. It was all worth it and quickly forgotten when I finally was able to take delivery of my Turbo. So, hang in there folks, your Turbo will arrive soon.
So, my dealer just called and the 2009 997TT's completed Pre-Delivery Inspection and MSRP stickers have been printed for the cars at the San Diego port. Cars will be leaving the San Diego port starting today, with deliveries next week. Apparently the California emissions issues have been resolved. Just more confirmation of what Eric the Plug Guy yesterday.
