Porsche does not have high speed limiters – no such thing. 326km/h is max speed due to rev counter limiter. If part of your flash rev limiter was upped by 500rpm, 340km/h on the clock is achievable as per video. You must account for 10% speedo over reading error, so bang on what Porsche says top speed is in the manual.

GPS’s accuracy is not 100% either. It mainly depends on how many satellites GPS unit can see. This varies with orbiting satellites in view. 8+ are needed for 95% accuracy. This is especially noticeable at crossroads and turns. If you pay attention you will see GPS is usually about 5 meters off the actual turn when maximum number of satellites are in view. Same goes for speed. This is a consumer limitation as only the military’s GPS units are 100% accurate - missiles are not allowed to miss by 15 foot :-). Your Porsche is nowhere near true 343km/h. If you check the transmission diagram in your owner’s manual (this is the most accurate representation of true speed as it is linked to physical gear ratio). At 6800 rpm (which is where you car is at your top speed run) your true speed is 310km/h. Tyre wear, diameter and wheel size also play a part (radius change) so +/- 2% on that speed is somewhat the true result.

Sure looks great. 343km/h. ;-). Well done. I've only managed 327km/h in mine as I've hit the standard rev limiter then.

I find odd some claims with stock cars doing more than 322km/h. My is a 07 tip car and it really stops at that speed, and is not due to aerodynamic/power. Maybe the speed limiter is only for tip cars. I will make a vid to show you what i'm talking about.

Hi,
To 997john,
I'm surprised that your boost pressure never exceed 1.0Bar when running 340kmh and more?
(I noticed on your vid')

Yes thats right, i faced some problems with my first tune with the hot weather, if you notice it was around 42C = 108F, then Todd reprograme it and now you will see 1.2 all the way up.
now with the cold weather i think i can reach more than that speed.
