Current Discounts?

Anybody know what to expect as far as discounts on an '09 TT? I'm looking at a possible deal...considering trading in my M3 and leasing a 997TT as a daily driver. Thanks.

I think you should go in and ask for 10% off and work from there. They are not as easy to find as the other models so it might put a damper on the discounting potential.

8k if you really push them.
More luck on a cab tip.
I would never lease a Porsche and their paper is silly expensive. The best deal is the 8k discount paying cash. You might want to hold off telling the dealer about the lease until the last second. Try getting them to reduce the money factor at closing and have them calculate a one time payment. You'll save about 10% on the lease. Write the check, drive it for a couple years and return it. Also, don't forget about the extra mile penalty its substantial with Porsche, unlike BMW.

I think it depends on the dealer and the car you want. Some dealers are really wanting to move their inventory while others seem pretty content to wait it out. If you are looking for a discount on the car you ordered (coupe, 6 spd) I think you may have a harder time getting a deal because as already stated, cab/tips are far more plentiful. Plus you ordered the car so the dealer may be less motivated.

PCNA had made all 997TT's customer order only, so once the dealers know they might not have much inventory in the future - another reason some are less motivated to move their limited number of 997TT's.

I heard lease rates went up substantially Jan 1. Back in October Porsche Financial was about the only game in town for 2009's ad they were offering: 36 mo/57%/10K and 48 mo/51%/10K with the max residualized amount $148,900. I leased mine it was the only way I could write the car off through my business.

On the other hand, find a car sitting on the lot with a dealer ready to deal and you can probably save a lot of money.

My car was ordered in June and delivered in October and I renegotiated the purchase price at delivery. The dealer was tough, but they know this market better then we do. My dealer was allocated 4 coupes for 09. All 4 were pre-sold, mine was one of them. He showed me closing docs on all the cars and the numbers were shocking, everyone paid over sticker.
FWIW, there are about 2 dozen 09 Turbos that were not ordered sitting on lots. I contacted every single dealer and was unable to match the same deal on the car I ordered. I did get very close and the car had almost identical options other then my seats.

I think you got a great deal but it depends on the dealer. I believe there are some dealers that would rather sit on a car or take a loss selling to another customer rather than renegotiate with someone who ordered a car. Luckily, your dealer was willing to keep you as a customer.

Take a look at Porsche of Roslyn (NY), they have pretty decent amount of very well optioned Turbo coupes on the lot, and I know they will work with you.
