No greater thrill than a good slam dunk 997tt
Hahaha, yeah it is pretty fun to do. I try not to do it...but there are times when I think people just want to see me get on it lmao. Little do they know I have roughly 650hp
No TT, but I can relate.

The freeway traffic has the right of way --true . They are not allowed to speed though and in his effort to assert his right of way he raised the bar at the cost of getting a citation. I merely upped his ante a bit.
At 25MPH following the laws of California I would have had to slam my brakes . In fact in any other car I would have. Had this been a busy highway I would have stopped even in the Turbo . The difference was that he has the entire highway to himself and could have moved over or stayed at the proper speed which woild have allowed me to enter. Instead he floored it in an effort to prevent me from entering and by the look on his face via my rear view he was very surprised that I was able to leap beyond him even with his head start and momentum.
Once there I did gradually slow down but he was so ticked that he wanted more . He still could have gone past me in another lane but instead he rode up on my bumper . So now its two cars in one lane with an entire highway empty .
At that point was when I decided to pull away but before I did the waving "bye bye" gesture was IMO appropriate to this (quoting Noah) "Turd" lol.

. I was simply pointing out the law even though we all do the "right thing."
It's a sign of old age (mine!) that you begin to prioritize the risk side over the fun side of these maneuvers. Over the years of pushing motorcycles, airplanes and cars, I found it wisest to avoid circumstances in which one cough, miss, gear change error or the like can put you in a situation in which you're at the hands of another driver, road conditions or worse yet, gravity!
By the way, I am definitely not siding with the jerk who sped up to block you. All too common and it drives me crazy.
I'm sure your car is a hoot (boy, I'd love a ride in a car like that), but I like to leave a margin of error for imperfect machinery and conditions.
Again, getting old sucks. More experiences, less testosterone. Bummer.

You're taking it the wrong way. If I had 700 horses under my seat, I would be doing the same thing. People are just offering there own perspective on life, some more conservative than others.

I know you would . I look forward to the day that we both can join a few others from the forurm for a nice drive with a few of these beasts.

Most definitely. A caravan of beastly 700s. That would be a sight to behold.
Thank you. I surely wasn't criticizing the guy. Lucky fellow that he is. Just personalizing it. And to the poster who mentioned 'someday I will', well, um, I did find myself wheelie-ing my R1100RS on to 101. Three kids and a 600 lb moto with the nose at take-off attitude? After years of safe ownership, I sold it
Verde - The first Turbo I had was in 97 and my sister turned to me and said "please don't die in this car" . There's a risk involved in any car and when a split second decision goes south it can be all over .
As we age I think we realize that theres just too much to lose so we don't race around in the juvenile manner as in our youth.
However -something else occurs -- while we wisen up about being careful we also get better at split second decision making with these high powered cars .
I respect one who goes through life and never goes for it . But that person just isn;t me. Part of me thinks theres a little bit of that in every Turbo owner because it's a very fast car and not many bought it with intentions to drive it slow .

-sorry if i talk in tongues.
2Quick-
TT Dude and I are friends . We even met and went for a ride and I think he kinda liked going quick too.
2quick --I think many understand and at least ponder the "thrill" and maybe they clicked on the thread.
Some will , others won't --but all in all --it was pretty good .

As for "Freeway traffic has the right of way" my response is...
