This is a less fancy install than the slick Performance Outfitters one. I wanted to keep the display from being seen from cars in back of me and also didn't want to have to avert my eyes too far. I mounted the controller in a place that allowed me continued use of the ashtray for coins, etc. and have an easy view of the buttons while driving.

The cool part is the foot operated power on/off switch that allows quick shutoff after speed has been decreased. This allows one to keep both hands on the steering wheel and eliminate suspicious shoulder/arm movements from alerting the laser gun 'users' from suspecting that a laser shifting device is being used and then shut off.

Right now the speaker is under the seat but I'll likely move it to where the floor wraps up to meet the door sill at the point where the drivers seat meets the seatback. We found that the speaker whined when placed anywhere up front because of all the electronics in the car. The underseat location works well except when listening to music at high levels, hence the plan to move it.

This setup works very well.

The radar antenna is mounted along with the GPS antenna under the front bumper. The laser shifters are in the same place as the Performance Outfitters setup.

 

Where is that foot switch located, at the top of the gas pedal? Can't really make it out clearly from the pic. Cool idea, I like it.

 

It's the small cylindrical foot switch located just above the dead pedal in the first picture.

 

I finally got around to finishing my install. It came out pretty good for a do it yourself job....
