Will there be a 997 Turbo S?
I don't know anything but I'd reasonably suspect that at some point Porsche will decide that they can jam the GT2 motor into the 997TT, add PCCB as standard along with a short throw shifter, throw on some stripes and get $60k extra for a 997 Turbo S. They seem to not be willing to leave any money on the table as it relates to "special editions".
I wonder if the sports chrono package has taken the place of the X50 option, at least in the mind of the marketing people. It's certainly true that Porsche is very good at making exciting versions of intresting cars.
The dealer here tells me (unofficially of course) that the 997TT.2 will be out by this year end and that they are already taking deposits. All changes of the 997.2 range will be integrated . I guess we all know that. But when I asked him about the Turbo S, he was not too sure him self.
