The Lightest 997 TT Exhaust?
The Lightest 997 TT Exhaust?
The ‘Proper’ sound of a Sports Exhaust is essential but here at QuickSilver Manor I wonder if we 6speeder’s focus too much on the sound and overlook the other benefits?
In particular, 911 drivers know all about the rear weight bias. Anyone looking to improve the ‘Real’ performance of their 911 knows that removing weight from the rear of the car is the number-one priority.
Inside the rear bumper is a huge lump of steel so I submit some weight comparisons below for discussion.
Porsche Factory Exhaust..............28Kg / 61.6 lbs
QuickSilver 'Titan' Exhaust...........10.4Kg / 22.9 lbs......Saving 17.6Kg / 38.7 lbs
QuickSilver 'Sports' Exhaust.........14.8Kg / 32.5 lbs......Saving 13.2Kg / 29 lbs
QuickSilver’s ‘Titan’ Exhaust
The Ultimate Sports Exhaust System for the Porsche 997 Turbo is found in QuickSilver’s ‘Titan’ Collection’.
The QuickSilver ‘Titan’ exhaust is almost a third of the weight of the standard system – reduced by 18 kilos or 38.7 lbs.
This is a remarkable weight saving particularly as the catalyst cores & shells (weighing 3.5 kilos) comprise such a large proportion of the total weight.
Importantly this weight comes off the very rear of the car and so has a profound benefit to the balance and all aspects of performance.
This system is as close to an F1 system that exists. Utilising type 625 Inconel in .7mm and .9mm thickness for tube, silencer casing, muffler internals and thicker Inconel for the balance ’flex’, bands and flanges. The heat-shields are fabricated from .5mm Titanium.
Though Inconel does not carry any inherent weight advantage over stainless steel it’s superior strength allows less (thinner) material to be used.
Plus, Inconel’s superior durability to extreme heat make it a much better material for Turbocharged and Motorsports applications – Which is why Inconel (and not Titanium) is used for F1, Indycars, Le Mans, NASCAR and just about all the top formulae.

<!-- google_ad_section_end --> We also offer the QuickSilver 'Sports' System
QuickSilver's 'Sports' Exhaust
Porsche's factory exhaust system weighs 28 Kg (61.6 lbs) the QuickSilver 'Sports' Exhaust weighs 14.8 Kg (32.5 lbs) - Saving 13.2 Kg (29 lbs).
All 911 drivers are sensitive to the rear weight bias and know that any improvement in this area will have multiple benefits.
The QuickSilver system is constructed using T304 Stainless Steel for maximum durability.
While adhering to emission regulations the QuickSilver system realises the full potential of performance and sound. A robust sound at full throttle with respectful civility, when nescessary.

Sorry Guys Link now fixed
Our systems don't drone.
Highway cruising under 140mph remains civilised. You will still be able to hear the rozzers (cops)

another way to go is no muffler.....i have the fabspeed headers, fabspeed 200 cell cats, and fabspeed muffler bypass pipes. I love them. If you dont like to be heard from a ways away its not the best. Its a loud system but does improve hp in the higher rpms. It does save around 45 lbs compared to stock system. If you want more info talk to Joey at fabspeed.com he has all the dyno read outs.
