Opinion: 9% off for a 2009 Turbo
I worked at a dealership for a while and got to know the finance as well as margins fairly well. You should be able to negotiate much better with cash right now so that the dealers can pay off the cars that they have sitting on their lots instead of them waiting for your monthly payments to come in.
whose add? are these leftover cabs or coupes? when i was looking for a new car, last august, i could only find a couple leftover 08 coupes in the country.
It sounds like the car is right there. You won't save much by travelling and trying to squeeze another 2K out . It's not worth the headache .
If you want to save money you have to buy used . Even then I would never buy a used car of this caliber unless I knew the previous owner . I happen to know one in Northern Calfornia sitting at a dealership for months . It lacks the axle lock , is two years older , and you'd probably save 20K more but you would also have acar two years older . No bargain .
Get that white car in yoir own back yard that you love !! Just my 2 cents .

Sorry, they are all cabs. Walter in Riverside.
So far, some really good advice/opinions from everyone, thanks! Yes, the proximity of the car to me is a plus. I did happen to search the Los Angeles area dealerships. They indeed to have many Turbos but they are all either black colored, cabs, cab-tips, black cab-tips... You get the point.
One of the plus points to the new aspect is exactly what yrralis1 mentioned; I know the previous owner, Porsche! Also, saving the $20k on a used may be nice, but I did not see any that fit my option wants. I like the new touch screen PCM too!

Imo, if you get 10% off a new coupe, you've done pretty well. It's a brand new car. I ordered my 08tt a year ago with minimal options and only got $1500 off msrp. That said, my color combo meteor gray/blk-terracotta (two tone) is something you just don't find on a lot. And I really didn't want all those extra options that dealer cars usually have. My attitude was if I'm going to pay that kind of $$ for a car, then it's going to be exactly how I want it and something I will be completely satisfied with everytime I look at it. Mission accomplished.

PM if interested. I drove the car around the lot last weekend. It was sick and at that price I was seriously considering it.
Dog, pm oldguy, he's looking.
If you want a new car I say go for it, nothing beats new...usually. But in these times, with a in stock car, nuthin' special (not like you spec'd it out to your liking and waited months), consider a used.
9% off is pretty good, you won't see better than 10-11%.

My dealer connect has tons of inventory right now. They're probably one of the most aggressive I've seen, and as a result, ship cars everywhere. With that being said, I sent another friend down there and they were ready to give him almost as good a deal on a spec'd car.
Again, if anyone is really serious about buying, not shopping but actually prepared to make a purchase, pm me your contact info and a good time for them to call. I'll grease the wheels and get it rolling for you
I am going to aim for 10% and call it a day. The extra 1% will help offset some more of the tax shield gained from trade-in. Thanks for the wonderful advice everyone. If it all works out, there may be another regular poster on this board (me).

there are more pricing threads then anything these days.
Porsche Mark up on Turbo's is 13%
They need to make 1-2% if you plan on using them to service your freaking car.
I know a guy who has been trying to beat my deal for 6 months, guess what? He is driving a rental car
Take your 9% and be happy, it's a depreciating asset and you'll get 30% flushed day one, but it's only money (or it was).

Hey guys, again I used to be GM at Porsche Audi dealer. For 09 P cars there is 10% front end margin and 5% holdback. 2% of which is tied to the dealers CSI and Complience to being a Porsche Approved Dealer. (furnature, desks, building etc have to be new and up to date) So, at 10% off the dealer is losing the PDI charge of $400 or so with gas and detail. The other 5% isnt considered profit. Also, they will give you a better deal if you finance car. They buy money for 5% and sell it to you a 6.79%. On a 100k loan that could be a few grand. If your gonna pay cash, finance instead and just make 4-5 payments. That way the dealer wont get charged back for the % money they made and you can pay it off at anytime with out pre-payment penalty. But if your gonna keep it for a while Id get an 08 if you dont car about touch NAv and Btooth. GL
Chris, nice to see that you're finally jumping on the Turbo bandwagon. I think that you're getting a good deal with the 10% you're about to ask. There's not really much that I could add that hasn't already been said but it's good to see you here too.
