What to know about the rear bumper removal

I searched through 996 and 997 forums and didn't found many info about it beside some saying that is pretty easy and that there is bolts inside the fenders, behind the license plate and in the upper part inside the engine bay. But nothing about:

Does the lowered cars allow to access the inner fender bolts without jacking the car by the chassis (i'm talking about jacks that lift the car by the wheels)?

Is it need to take off the taillights to access any bumper bolt?

I watched the guys do it on my car, only takes about 5 min. Lots of bolts and they took off the taillights.

I've seen cars with rear bumper off with and without taillights ... Where are the bolts of the taillights? Are them easy to see in the engine bay?

If I recall, to access the screws they had to remove the lights. There's no other way.

And what about the rear wheels? Do they lifted the car by the chasis making the wheels drop and therefore increasing clearance wheel-fender, or do they remove the bumper with the same clearance as it has on the floor?

The rear wheels stayed on the car, it was also on a lift.

Thanks Dan, you are a premium member in this board. Very helpfull with well detailed posts.

I removed the bumper in the floor, no lift or jack:

1. Unscrew 6 bolts in the bottom of the bumper.
2. Unscrew 4 bolts in the upper part of the bumper, inside the engine bay. (Pic1)
3. Untight only 2 bolts of the side of each the tail-lights, inside de engine bay, and slide it outer the car. (Pic2)
4. Unscrew 1 bolt each side of the inner corner of the tail-light place. (Pic 3)
5. Unscrew 1 bolt hidden behind of the wheel cover. (Pic4) This is a bit tricky without any lift due to the wheel-fender clearance, especialy in lowered cars. To access it i also unscrewed 1 bolt of the cover wheel and with a extra pair of hands pulled the bottom of the side bumper to get higher clearance.
6. Now is ready to pull out. Don't forget to disconnect the license plate lights that is behind the middle of the bumper.
