I wanted to stop by Farnbacher to have them check out my front suspension but my car is at AutoSport Designs this week for some minor body work. Need to get my GT3RS wing refitted and fix up my front bumper.

Im going to run plate-less in the front in NYC and see how much slack I catch for it.

Anyone else driving around NYC with no front plates?

Do I need to donate some money to the PBA and get some of their stickers so the traffic cops ease off me ?

not worth it. i got pulled over once in black 997 c2s (no ticket, just warning) and got ticket on silver tt while sitting on corner of 3rd avenue and e82st waiting for a buddy. VERY annoying. pba stickers don't help when an idiot traffic cop who makes $24k a year sees a $135k car with $50k mods parked on side of road without front plate.

If you're in the city all the time it's probably best to put it on. I'm rarely in the city with my car but the biggest problem seems to be the bridge/tunnel crossings.

got stopped twice at the midtown tunnel but they let me go. I have the plate under the pass. seat and told them the car was recently in for some work and they had to order new plate brackets.

knock on wood, but 2 years and 20K miles with no plate and good so far.

My daily commute is from Brooklyn to Brooklyn so I'm not hitting any tunnels and its parked either in the driveway or at the garage at the office.

I did get that screw in plate holder that goes into the tow hook so I'll just carry that with me and if I park it on the street for a while I'll screw it in.

I just couldn't stand the look of the front plate ruining my front any longer, it was driving me crazy. lol

Sorry for the thread jack

Autosport Deigns - good body shop
Precision Motorsports - good shop for alignments, installs etc.
FabSpeed is relatively close and they have great customer support Im sure they could do your exhaust install and I'd recommend their exhaust system as well.

Check out these guys. They have made some fantastic BMWs. I have talked with the owner, George, a couple of times. He's a good guy. and best yet, he seems to always be able to make a fast car faster.

The front plate is an instant ticket in NY, mine fell off on my old car and I was pulled over three times in three days, granted always in the tunnel.
Jamuz, I'll look for your car tomorrow. Raiyu, def let FL sort your car out, you won't be sorry. It's like no other shop you've ever been to, I'm sitting here as we speak, porsche heaven!
