If i were driving at 200mph often which i think is awesome i'd leave the bodykit off. You don't want anything flying off, unless your certain with your installation.
Otherwise, the techart pieces really complement the 997 nicely.

TA Type II is my all time favorite. In this case, you get what you pay for.

Couldn't agree more with that statement. Photoshop is "great" and all but when you actually go to put some fiberglass stuff on that fits like poo... hence all we ever do is factory or TechArt. Tried all the other stuff and just not worth it for us

One thing people don't actually know is that ze Germans (aka TechArt) actually use the same Wind Tunnel Test facility as Porsche does to verify that there are no adverse effect and that everything is in order. That's honestly something I feel they don't promote enough because when you drive a $150K Porsche on the Autobahn at speeds in excess of 100mph downforce, drag coeff. etc... all matters more to folks like us than just a big honda-prelude style wing

For the money and the sacrifice of adding nasty looking big wings I'd want something that actually gave better downforce.

I have read that the TechArt GT Street kit gives better downforce, but I am wondering why tuners like Cargraphic just stick the GT2 bodykit on their really fast Turbos. CG cars are pretty much the gold standard for tuners and their results speak for themselves given TA tuned cars have to run a lot more power and use slick tires to keep up with the street tyres fitted CG cars on a track.

The press release said the car was a 997 GT3 RS.
CG should have just left the factory Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires on the car and they would have had the same tires as TECHART.

As you can see CG had 2 cars entered, one a GT3 the other based on a Turbo.

So the CG Turbo was quicker than it's Cab TA counterpart by a second and it had slightly less horsepower and standard road tyres....

I can't believe that the Gemballa Avalanche slid by without a single comment. I guess it must be the price of that sort of thing and only the ultra-wealthy affording it. My vote goes to their stuff.

3) The front bumper/spoiler is almost the same as the TechArt type II except you lose the front fog lights. To me the TA II front looks better
4) The rear bumper looks like it missed a trick by not having a rear diffuser (and looks a little plastic in the area under the numberplate)
5) Cheaper costs? Not from the numbers I've seen.

Best looking aftermarket rear spoiler though hands down!! And yes, I agree that other aftermarket side skirts do look out of place, so I am with you on that also.

New Wide Body by Patritti

Here is my new favorite Wide Body. Recently completed by Patritti for ME ME ME....lol.
This car will be in display @ SEMA. The conversion is available, but its not cheap. All Carbon Fiber, 7" wider rear and 3.75" wider front.

This is based on a 996 but is also available for a 997. You may have seen the sick *** Cayman that he completed last year that was in European Car and several other mags. The Cayman will be at SEMA as well.

The conversions will be available in California. This took over 11 months to complete. What you can't see in the photos is all the dry carbon work done to the side skirts, front spoiler, under-tray, rear diffuser and wing. Some of this work will be completed after SEMA, as well as the interior update. I just couldnt wait to show the car after nearly a year of build time.
