New photos...can't stop smiling...
After a spirited afternoon drive through rural Wisconsin...I thought I'd share my initial impressions.
Suspension
Ruf uses the exact same setup as Bilstein's Damptronic system...same spring rate, same damper settings. The rear sway on its medium setting balances nicely with a soft front stock sway. Rear end sloppiness is much improved as is understeer. Non sport-mode is more athletic. After a thrashing through Kettle Moraine state park, the best improvement was a stable rear while accelerating out of the apex of a turn.
Exhaust
I love the rumble. It is definately loud...kind of like Cargraphics Loud version. Tone is deeper, not mechanical. Tips are stainless steel welded into the exhaust. Cats are 100 cell. No CELs.
ECU
If I were to grade power of a stock 997TT to be 6.5/10, I would grade this ECU/Exhaust combination to be 8.5/10. I would have graded my friend's Proto 996TT to be 9.5/10. Very usable powerband, starting at 2200-2500 RPM torque comes on and stays on evenly.
At the higher RPM bands, power comes on evenly to redline with no drop off. Acceleration with sport mode on gives the throttle a bit more responsiveness, and brings torque on a little sooner.
Wheels
What can I say...wow. I love'em.
Decklid
Beautiful carbon fiber wing, very light, weight savings of about 35 lbs.
LWFW
Jury is still deciding...but rumors says the they are in favor
. Lightning fast revs...effortless shifting. Stock feel. Engadgetment is identical to stock. Weight savings of over 20 lbs. Acceleration with the other mods is very robust, and helps eliminate the sensation of lag. Car's acceleration has the feel of a lighter car. When the transmission is cool, there is no chatter...no chatter on startup or idle. When the transmission has been given a good workout, chatter becomes a little noticable. Not too bad...but it is there. No louder than a GT3RS.
My only issue on this Ruf package
To the experts who have LWFW experience, I've notice transmission noise in the higher gears when accelerating...ie 4, 5, 6 under heavy load there is a unusual sound that doesn't sound like regular chatter at idle. Any ideas?

Looking good. The chatter under heavy load is normal for the LWFW. Congrats.
Nice write up Bobby. Did you go with the Ruf version Damptronics or the Bilsteins? I concur with your findings on power and handling. You will find the GT2 rear sway works best in the middle setting on the street, I make it one stiffer at the track with the R compounds.
Doug...the coilovers are identical for Ruf and Bilstein...the only difference is I painted the springs and sway green...a la Ruf.
I dropped it to GT3 specs. We'll see how it handles the power when I get to Road America.

Hugo, thanks so much for the suggestions on the seal grey wheels...they look fantastic!
