Very Very nice...
Just wondering about 997 owners thoughts on painting the front lip vs. leaving it black. What's the idea behind leaving it black? Also the sides and rear.

My front lip gets scraped constantly. I was sick and tired of painting it.

just got mine all painted 2 wks ago and it looks great. I have the arctic silver color. It makes the car look lower and the car seems to look bigger since there's more silver to see now. If you're going to lower the car, I suggest buying an extra lip or two to have as spares since they get scuffed up quite easily. If you have a black car, then you can get away just leaving it as is.

I don't even know how mine gets scrapped up, I am so careful and every time I wash the car I find little bits of plastic that have been scrapped off and are hanging. A nail file is my new best friend along with gas stations hilarious
Didn't someone just get a RUF in Wi? I would love to meet up and check it out.

what tips are on the exhaust?

bbywu May 18, 2009 02:06 PM

You'll have to ask Doug, but I think he swapped his Tubi for the Ruf exhaust.

The exhaust Ruf supplies is essentially a modified 997TT exhaust, lightened a little, 100 cell cats, and welded stainless tips.

She's beautiful. I agree with color matching the front lip, side skirts and rear apron.

Thanks guys, I ended up doing the whole conversion exhaust and all.
Funny thing about the lip, that's a brand new one for the pics I took yesterday. I already scraped it this morning! No way I would paint it.
