Video IPD Y-Pipe Flowbench Independent Test

This video (though it won't win any Oscar nominations) was sent to us showing an independent flowbench test with the stock 997 Turbo Y-Pipe vs. the IPD Y-Pipe during the development process by Turbo Mike.
There will be many more tests done with the IPD Y-Pipe, but it's clear that the IPD Y-Pipe flows more efficiently, stay tuned.

Interesting video. I would love to see some side by side dyno testing. It seems like it would be better to have more than a ~13% improvement in flow. Perhaps more flow capacity would increase lag too much?

only difference with real life is that in the test the air is being sucked throug instead of being blown and this will also alter the data of performance.
I guess it's like the intercoolers, Porsche engineers aren't stupid but also don't go for overkill in standard applications and therefore some standard product will have a disadvantage on tuned cars, this only makes it more fun for the tuners I guess as they have a challange

I have some questions as I have just come across this new part . I had seen the "Y pipe" in thread titles thinking it was the plenum .

I currently have the plenum and it works well with my system . Is this the next step ? Have you tested it against the plenum ? I see it's not listed on your site . Does that mean it's still in testing ?

My car is running so good .. not ready to tinker with it (yet) . Hoping to learn a bit more .

problem with the standard one is that the smallest point (on both inlets) the inner diameter is only 44mm wich result in very high velocity on tuned cars, this high velocity creates heat and turbulance and that has a bad efect on the general performance.

Hi yrralis1,

The IPD Y-Pipe is available due to customer demand.
However, there will be more testing performed and we will release all of the features and benefits.
Please contact RSS directly for more information at 714.545.1046.

How much does the stock motor draw? Even if the upgraded plenum flows 5000CFM, if the motor only needs 600CFM wouldn't the stock one be up to the task? How much does a 750HP Turbo draw? Just trying to understand the differences here.

At 6500rpm: 3.6L x 6500 rpm = 23,400L = 23.4 cubic meter.
23.4 cubic meter = 23.4 x 35.3 = 826.02 CFM
