Who is keeping his 997tt "forever" ?

I look at the for sale ads , the CPO inventory , auto trader and the number of low mileage Turbos are present everywhere . I don't understand it . Some of these cars are priced thousands lower than a 997.2 and they are still goregous to me .

I am keeping mine "forever" . The quotation marks are present only because I can believe it but can't know the future . Yet in the present I can't imagine what it would be like without my car . I miss it when its in the shop getting mods even.

I don't even drive it every day . But I look at it .
When I go away on vacation , I miss my car .

So who else looks at his (or her) car and in that moment can't let it go ?

BTW --I can imagine life without my M3 or my Honda Si . I like the cars but I don't love them in the same way . So I don't feel this way about just any car . This Porsche is special .

Anyone else ?

I think your car will be featured is some kind of 'Overhaulin' in 2045 or something. Every post you make about the car just shows how much you love it, I believe you'll be holding on to it forever.
You seem like a true enthousiast!

Ye exacly..I can understand that..

Over my location here heavliy modified European cars are very hard to re-sale unless you swap it with another heavliy modified car owner privatly..No dealers want to touch it..So I might keep my one for a very very long time as well..Hopefully after the 997tt.2 PDK released with similer engine so I can do a PDK conversion.Thats my plan..

Me! I plan to keep her as long as I can which should be "forever." Heck, I've already had her for 2.5 years which technically is a lifetime for some folks.

I bought a Porsche for a number of reasons, one of which is because you quite litterally can keep it forever. Outside of a few bad years / models most Porsche vehicles look fantastic with age when taken care of.

It may work out cheaper to own this 997TT than owning a new M car every 3-4 years when you consider how much most of us spend on mods each new car! I'd like to get 15+ years out of mine anyways and pass it down a generation still in great condition.

I waited 20 years for mine and will keep it until I die. My son has already claimed it and vowed to keep it forever.

Yeh me too

Mine is so perfect now that not even next generations will come close IMHO. Porsche will be soon bringing out a 'lesser' A91 engine driven by cost cost cutting and EU directed CO2 restrictions (thus bringing the power battles to a close) plus their designs seems to get uglier and uglier given what they have come up with for the Paramera eye-sore.

So we've hit the pinacle in my opinion.

Indeed. A 997TT with 550 Ruf kit will wipe the floor with anything Porsche can come out with in the next 10 years.

I understand how everyone feels about their 997, and I feel exactly the same, but who is to say porsche will not come out with an even greater beast that runs on something besides electricity and petrol?

So I won't go as far as saying that I am going to keep it forever, but in order for me to upgrade, the new model would have to have something more than pdk and extra power.

I'd love to keep it beyond the 36 month lease. I'm really hoping that there isn't a massive outtrade between the residual and the blue book value come March 2011. The residual is pretty strong but man this car is awesome.
