Porsche Badge

Okay, I failed the test; as I was showing off the subtle items on my TT to a good friend. The question came up on what do all the little icons and colors represent on the Porsche badge?? My answer is a follows:

- Horse (isn't that Ferrari logo) no idea?
- Colors - no idea?
- Branches - no idea?
- Porsche name - Founder
- Stuttgard - where Prosche car was born?
- Why is the badge shaped in a shield?
- etc.........

I sure there's a story, but I think I only have one right answer (Porsche name).

Chime in and let me know what is really going on in the badge. Interested to hear your view on the Porsche icon badge.
