Mistakenly put C12 leaded gasoline in my 997 turbo

The place I buy ms109 from mistakenly put c12 in my AWE 700 car. I only put 5 gallons of the leaded fuel in but did get a check engine light after running it for some miles. The check engine light was for cats and a too rich fuel mixture. I caught the mistake and only put 5 gallons in mixed with other gas. Will my oxgyen sensors or my cats be ruined with 5 gallons mixed with other gas?

jnixon,

There is a chance it may have damaged the cats.

Try filling up the rest of the tank with 91. Burn it off, fill up will all un-leaded, and see if the light still comes back

I cleared the code and I have run the car lightly and no more codes but I still need to get all of the leaded fuel out.

Dilute it with as much un-leaded as you can fit into your tank

I made the same mistake, got the check engine light once and a while but then it became so frequent it would only take a couple of miles.

I now have a new exhaust installed, that was an expensive lesson.

I used to ran twice full 20 gallon 108 leaded for track..

After all luckily I didnt damage my cats but all the spark plugs were cooked,my cel showed missing fire code.Took me expensive labour cost to replace the spark plugs as well(require to take the turbo hoses out)

So you see, don't make same mistake next time.Leaded gas really not that suitable for 997tt..

Probably would have been best to siphon the bad gas out

I didn't realize they even offered leaded, I just assumed it was unleaded. When I returned from track I noticed the tail pipe was grey white. It striped the coatings, washed, off the 100 cell cats
