looked into 08 gallardo spyder (loaded) with 650mis; MSRP over 280K. i offered 180K; offer accepted along with shipping cost! backed out, got new 09 997tt cpe instead. no regrets so far. :0)

I think it has more to do with the supply and demand of the car, plus add in the twist of the worst recession since the big one in the 30s. If VW over builds the 997tt and their other premier cars to push numbers I think that will devalue the brand.

WW had to go, he nearly destroyed Porsche with his insane attempt to take over VW. He diluted the brand with SUVs and POS consumer grade wet sump motors, all in the name of profits.I say good riddance.
With Piech in charge things may change for the better. Remember Piech was the father of the 917 project, he is a motorsports guy. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Porsche name back on the F1 stage with the financial backing of VW it could happen.
