Rear spoiler not working properly

Hi,

washed the car tonight and like to raise the spoiler so i can give it a good clean.

Noticed the left side of the spoiler had not deployed fully, however the right hand side was fine. It goes back to the fully stowed position with no problems. Tried it a few times with the same result !.

Anybody seen this before ?. Whats the general consensus on the fault ?.

Will be dropping the car off at the workshop tommorrow for rectification.

Rgds.

Pentosin leak, hydraulic failure is my guess.

PITA to bleed the system. Let your dealer do it if it is under warranty.

I've had the misfortune of doing it myself. It is kind of a pain...you have to activate the spoiler with a 12 volt source or the spoiler button to suck in Pentosin, then put the spoiler up, bleed, lock the banjo bolt, then repeat on the other side. Usually, after a few tries, it still looks a little uneven. Better leave your dealer to do it.

The other thing you may want to check is that the hydraulics are not actually damaged...a loose bolt can be tightened, but if the tubing has a hole or leak, they may need to be replaced. The dealer will be able to tell.

Good luck!
