My new Techart LEDs for stock bumper
I love the look of the leds but it just looks awkward haveing the turn signals + leds. The techart kit for the gt street looks much better. For the stock bumper the vivid one is the way to go imo
Audi was clearly the trend setter on this design cue. Porsche is, as it always has with technology, playing catch up.
Bluetooth, voice activation, iPod integration, DFI, and yes, unfortunately, LED front and tail lights.

Im demoing a set of the hoen 164 digital led, its an led that works with the Bosch monitoring system so it wont throw a warning due to low voltage and it also does not employ capacitors either, its quite trick.
These are samples and the final ones ive been told will be 2x brighter but even in daylight you can see these but they are no way near DRL brightness. Still much nicer than the stockers.
pray imageshack works

First thing I did was use the laser thermometer
Its totally cool with these guys in there vs. quite warm when the stock incandescent bulbs were in its place.
I shot it both in the housing and out, registered 80 vs. 100 (measured then dangling from housing) with the stockers in there so its quite a bit cooler in fact (it was about 78 degrees outside). This led runs just under 1w and has two led squares but 3 will be the one sold. The whole thing looks like a tiny silicone wafer / board, slots in and has 3 little computer chips on it. If you told me it was a bulb I would have said hell no. Very different from other LEDs ive tried which tricked the red exclamation on the dash immediately, Ive had these for a few months for reference.
The hoen city light is an incandescant bulb, thats the one that people installed because it shares the same fitment but its for headlamps hence the reason it melted the small plastic housing. Its fine in headlights.

Any word on when they'll be available?
to me it just looks way too busy and messy. the stock LEDs down there only light up amber, correct? Am i missing something? Why doesnt a manufacturer just replace that light bar with a strip that has surface mount 1W LEDs in both white and amber with a module that switches the power to the amber ones when the signal is applied? Similar to that hoen style one. It wouldn't even cost much to build.. maybe $50 in LEDs and $100 for the module
When I first saw the pics, I was not happy about there being another strip of lights. At first I thought they replaced the OEM ones.
In person they look awesome (I think). This style is certainly not for everyone. So far, I've received some great compliments.

I would have to agree. The lights look awesome.
Rs1
ok, here is a pic of the 'multi axis dLED' from Hoen compared to the stockers.
I just put them in and they are very, very bright indeed, about 50% more so than the first ones I tested for them.
Still not ready for primetime just yet, eta 4 weeks.
