Momentum Porsche Houston
If you experience issues with the Houston dealerships, I would not hesitate to give the guys at Roger Beasely Porsche in Austin a call. I've bought three cars from them over the years, and they are a first class organzation. Plus, when I initially dealt with Momentum in Houston, the Austin dealership made me a far superior deal than Momentum, with much less hassle resulting in a really pleasant buying experience.
I ended up buying from Porsche N. Houston but I agree with shawminator. I talked with Collin at Roger Beasley and he was pleasant, knew the cars and was willing to talk price. I got a better deal here locally so it was a no brainer to go N. Houston, but Roger Beasley gets a vote from me as well.
I know they have a real nice '08 997 TT in GT Silver with loads of carbon fresh on their lot if that is your thing.

they do move a lot of cars...i have been told that they are in a very wealthy part of Houston
I just bought a CPO 07 TT from Momentum. Here is my story (in part):
From day one the shifter was popping out of 2nd; so the gearbox was replaced under warranty. It only happened going downhill while coming to a stop so it was hard to duplicate.
After the gearbox was replaced, the CEL came on while it was still at the dealership (Stevinson). The result was that the DME was replace and a precat. O2 sensor was replace (bank 2 was running rich). PCNA rejected the warranty claim because of an overrev that existed before Momentum certified the car. We fought and got them to cover it by basically stating that it would be a "deceptive warranty" practice and unlawful under the Magnuson-Moss Act to use a pre CPO overrev to deny a warranty claim.
I did ask Momentum to check the DME for any issues and was told in writing that there were no issues and that the car was under full warranty. I unfortunately did not ask to see the DME records to confirm Momentum's assessment. Clearly Momentum and PCNA were not on the same page as to what constitutes a material overrev.
Had the car home for a few weeks and another CEL came on. Result was a bad cat; so the entire exhaust was replace under warranty. We had to fight again with PCNA, but got it approved.
Overall, I would not buy another used car unless I actually read the DME report myself. If there were any upper level overrevs then I would not get the car even if the service manager said the car was under full warranty. When my issue came up, Momentum walked away and said it had no control over PCNA; and was NO help.
Fortunately, my service manager at Stevinson was great and worked with me to get PCNA to approve the items. Again, live and learn. I learned about the overrev issue the hardway; even though the car's engine is fine.
P.S. I used Jennifer at Momentum. Looking back on it, I realize now that she had no idea about why I asked her to check the DME and had no idea that PCNA will use overrevs to deny claims. But then I was not familiar with the CPO issue until it happened to me. I knew that overrevs were bad, but thought a CPO car was and should be fully covered. The service manager Jeff was zero help, but did indicate that he couldn't sell a car if it couldn't have overrevs; and of course that my car went through a very demanding inspection process.

I've bought from Rodger Gay at Momentum before. He gave me a price that was unheard of from my local dealers. Shipped the car from Momentum sight unseen without any hiccups.
It's a bit of a haul, but I'd recommend going up to see the guys at Porsche North Houston.
I went to both Sonic-owned (Momentum and W. Houston) and got marginally knowledgeable salespeople. In fact, one of the guys at Momentum was selling Land Rovers just 2 months ago! One other guy tried to convince me some standard features on the S and TT were paid options. I had him pull up the build sheet and he finally admitted he was mistaken.
If you are looking for new or pre-owned, go up there. They are a smaller dealership so their pre-owned inventory isn't as extensive, but they can probably get anything you want. It's worth the wait, I promise!

other than the fact that i love my car, their service after the sale is AWFUL!!!!
jennifer Sullivan is the internet sales manager, and before and during the sale was great, dropped off the planet after the sale and wouldnt return a call or email to settle some loose ends
it took many calls to upper level people to finally get all done...i even told them about jennifer's behavior and no one cared
happy with everything except the service

In Houston the 3 Porsche dealerships are pretty particular about taking in trades and selling used Porsches. Any body work and they will auction off to the 2nd line dealers such as Expo. If you are looking at cars at the dealerships I would go to Rodger Gay at North Houston, Carlos at West Houston, and Oscar or Eric Petry at Momentum. Usually the people in charge of internet sales are the more junior guys. When you identify a used Porsche of interest, there is one guy I would call to do a PPI - Viking Sjovall. He was a service manager for many years at Don McGill Porsche (now West Houston) and knows ALL of the mechanics and sales guys. When he gets through with an inspection he can practically has run even DNA samples...
nice new avatar
i was interested in a car there told them i had money in hand ready to buy within the week. i never received a call back from the internet sales person. i called and left multiple messages nadda not even a call back. horrible customer service imho
in conclusion, as an update for members:
service is awful
they have a lot of inventory
if my car wasnt 99% what i wanted i would regret it...but i love the car
conclusion: dont buy from them
