i have a set of illuminated doors sills that i wanted to install myself but after reading the instructions provided by my local dealer i think i may have to take this one to the dealer. instructions call for 250 tu/ 2 1/2 hours and its seems kind intense with wiring harness going through the door and frame. if anyone has done this DIY please let me know how bad was it

i don't mind taking it to the dealer and forking out the $250 or so, but really just hate having someone working on the car and risking the chance that something may be damaged

 

i would have someone else do it...the last thing you want is an electrical problem, besides i am sure your time is worth more than $250

 

I had this done on one of my AMG rides and there was much more to it than I thought. I watched the tech do part of the work and I was glad I did not attempt it. I am a pretty good diy'er and I don't think I would attempt it myself. Just my .02
