Any idea what they look like? FVD holds no punches on cost of tips, they show some high pricing.

If you want real dual tips it's gonna cost a little more
Otherwise the Fabspeed, FVD, AWE, and CG are all nice looking tips. I like the Techarts too for something a little different. If you really want a one of a kind look get the Tubi tips, which are an aquired taste for sure.

Here are some pics of my Fabspeed. A few points that might be of interest:

1. Some tips like Cargraphic have chrome finish; others like Fabspeed have stainless steel finish. Matter of taste but I much prefer the less shiny stainless steel finish to the shiny and bright chrome. I want my exhaust tip to be simple, round, non-shiny, because I think exhaust tip is meant to be round simple, non shiny (just personal pref.). No bling in this area!

2. It probably would not matter to me, but chrome tip might yellow over time and that bothers some people. Atomic (Jason) used to complain about this.

3. I recall one of the after-market tips blocks one of the 2 outlets. Most likely doesn't make a difference functionally but I have some vague "uneasiness" with this.

4. I have GREAT GREAT difficulty paying what, 1100 or 1200 for some of these tips? Not complaining that a company charges that much -- it's a free country -- but that is about 1/3 the price of some exhaust system!

5. Someone corrects me if I am wrong, but the Fabspeed comes with a 1mm thin metallic band that goes between the exhaust outlet and the tip, that prevents the thing from flying off?

Tech Art tips

There are plenty of choices you have from many manufactures. It’s all personal preference and how much you wanna spend. Regarding your comment "And, another I found is the two overlapping tips which I fail to understand who in the world designed such a contraption." The guys that designed such a contraption, work for a company called Tech Art out of Germany. One of the most renowned aftermarket Porsche companies in the world. They’re actually the tips I have on my TT. a little pricey $1500.00, but I think they have come down considerably in price in the last year... Call Alex at Sharkwerks and he’ll give you a great price!

Thanks Cannga, just wanted to clarify that the Cargraphic Dual Exhaust Tip offerings are polished stainless steel, not chrome plated. They are also available in black. The Cargraphic Tips for 997 Turbo only fit the Cargraphic mufflers.

RSS is in the process of creating a new line of exhaust tips to offer enthusiasts additional choices and better price points. We will keep everyone posted as we complete them.

Hey, help a newbie out. Would replacing the stock tips (as in tips only) with duals on a new 2010 TT void the warranty?

Absolutely not! Changing exhaust tips is completely cosmetic. I seriously doubt you would even get a second look from an aftermarket exhaust (plus you can always go back to stock). Once you start tuning the ECU, your potential warranty issues begin.

I think it's same tip as the Fabspeed, but the nut holding the clamping bolt is not welded is what I gather is reason for cheaper price. I got the Fabspeeds, they bolted on with zero problems, snd came with excellent customer service from Fabspeed (about $625).
