The ShowKing of NY's White 997TT - You Will Like!

Brooklyn's Pete is known as the ShowKing and his license plate "don't lie!" Coming from a crazy G35, Pete has stepped up his game and is outfitting this white Porsche 997 Turbo. Being a showstopper, you have to have limited edition parts. So Pete hooked up with Vivid Racing and equipped his ride with a GruppeM carbon fiber lip spoiler. He has also mounted up a set of 20" brushed HRE 944R wheels with Michelin tires. With some exhaust work, carbon fiber Werks One Y-Pipe and Cold Air Intake, the ShowKing tuned his 997 Turbo with the Vivid Racing. If only I had the recording of the phone call during the test drive, it would have made a priceless YouTube video. The reaction went like this, "Holy S$%T, this thing is F&%#ing Fast!"

Vivid Racing now offers its own tuning at www.vrtuned.com. Read our FAQ, see applications, and order. We are no longer affiliated with or sell the other brand of tuning.

It's a beautiful car.

But who is Brooklyn's Pete?

ZZinger 11-09-2009 04:23 PM

Nicely done!!!

Das90 11-09-2009 06:32 PM

I believe the wheels are 794r's.

amdspitfire 11-09-2009 06:41 PM

gorgeous car

bonehead 11-09-2009 06:47 PM

Whoa. I wasn't diggin' those HRE's before, but the whole white, Techart thing you got going on there looks incredible! Nice work!

GothamDetailing 11-09-2009 08:03 PM

I can attest to the whole test drive. The car is a night and day difference.

Showking 11-09-2009 08:52 PM

Thanks a lot guys for the compliments.. I really appreciate it. And thanks again Dan, for the tech support. -Showking

vividracing 11-10-2009 08:23 AM

FYI the car has a GruppeM front lip spoiler. The side skirts are TechArt.

Chico@Vivid 11-10-2009 10:04 AM

Rear diffuser and roof spoiler is also TechArt. Looking good Pete.

you read my mind:p.....20's + NYC Streets= Bent rims or bruised kidneys!
Nice looking TT though!:D.....

JmanE55 11-10-2009 02:27 PM

Balling...

NYC_Z06 11-10-2009 02:29 PM

Indeed if you can afford the ride, you can afford the replacements. I'd love to go to 20" but I go through some rough terrain, including cobblestone streets in Brooklyn Heights (where those shots were taken) and I'm certainly not as liquid as Brooklyn Pete. Just my "entry level" mentality come through. My bad. Very cool ride.

vividracing 11-10-2009 02:45 PM

Go with the 19" HRE Monoblocks. They withstand the rough roads of NY and fit OEM tires.

bavorak 11-10-2009 03:04 PM

Love it! Very tastefull:-) Nice photography as well

vividracing 11-10-2009 05:02 PM

Pete needs to post up a pic of his G35 that gave him the name ShowKing :) This 997TT is just getting started!

salerno713 11-10-2009 06:57 PM

Beautiful car, MORE PICS PLEASE!

Showking 11-11-2009 08:03 AM

Thank God I have had no problems with the wheels so far.. My kidneys however, hate me for it. lol Every car I owned thus far has been slammed to the floor on big wheels so I kinda grew up avoiding potholes and curbs. Believe it or not, I am actually very happy with the way the car rides now on these wheels with the Eibachs. It rode horrible after the drop on the stockers though. As far as being low... The Speedart lip I had was way too low for NYC, even for me.. but the Gruppe M lip is perfect. I definitely don't plan on replacing any rims, but I haven't to this point so I guess I'm playing the odds. lol. I'll post some more pics tonight. Thanks again guys. -Showking

P.S. Even if you have no plans to do motor work GET THE SOFTRONIC TUNE!!! You won't be sorry!! I'm not a "speed freak" or anything, but the power is incredible!! And the car behaves totally normal.

krenshaw 11-11-2009 08:49 AM

Gorgeous car! First time I've seen the 944R's on a Turbo and they really look stunning.

raiyu 11-11-2009 12:00 PM

Great looking car, white is the way to go on the 997 ;)

I pass by that street on the way to work everyday and often thought about taking some photos there, but Im too lazy.

Awesome looking ride.

NYC_Z06 11-11-2009 12:31 PM

Lotta nice white TT's in Kings County!
Raiyu - is that DUMBO - Washington and Water?

Showking 11-11-2009 12:32 PM

It's a hectic place to park now with all the construction.. I know of some really nice cobblestones in the city I go to near the seaport. I'll get you the names. They were dead quiet at like 10 p.m. on a Saturday in the summer. Not bad for NYC.

NYC_Z06 11-11-2009 12:50 PM

Joralemon is cobblestone as you approach Furman but I would not recommend you drive down that street. It’s Jeep country. You can get some really nice shots at night (especially w/white paint) at the end of Old Fulton St. Do a long exposure night shot and you’ll get the skyline and streaks from the lights on the ships. Might wanna wait until after the Grimaldi’s crowd has thinned out.

Showking 11-11-2009 12:58 PM

No doubt.. I have pics of my old car over there... And Grimaldi's, That line was like 150 people strong the other day!! Unbelieveable. lol

Showking,

Did you get that car brand new or used? If it was used, was it purchased from Upstate New York? You 997 Turbo looks awesome.

Nope.. Porsche Roslyn 3k miles. Thanks -Showking

Showking 11-12-2009 07:09 AM

The guy at the the dealer was actually on the hunt for a white one for me for a while. He hit me up when this one came in and said "Trust me, you want to come see this.".. He wasn't kidding, I went and left with a much thinner wallet. lol. Turned out to be good, though, I couldn't be happier with the car.

I've been parking my car there since I got it with no issues. If you had a big Range Rover I'd say check your car everytime you pull out ;)
