If 997.2 turbo is out this Jan, and we are talking about Turbo S in May? When will the next generation of turbo will be out? A year after all the regular models are out? 2012?

 

Typically 2 years after the Carrera is introduced. So for the 997 that was 04 for the Carrera and 06 for the Turbo.

My guess would be 2011 for the 991 Carrera and 2013 for the 991 Turbo.

 

Just guessing -- 2013 .

The big thing is that with a full redesign and PDK bound to evolve --the next car will be the "all new" next reason for us all to spend more money but now 9 Porsches later .. I am already used to it . I am already saying "I am done buying Turbos " trying to ratonalize those thoughts years in advance as part of nurturing future cost saving ideas.

We'll see.

 

nxt gen Turbo will be in 458 Italia & McLaren MP4-12C territory; i agree, might be "turboed out". may look elsewhere esp. with "cheaper" engine now used on the turbo. Turbo has become a "GT car" instead of an innovative "racer". if i stick with Porsche will look @ nxt gen GT3 RS first!

 

Will look at RS first absolutely. Just hope you can get one at MSRP. Hoping Porsche just makes all GT3s the top of the line versions because that's where it's at. The sales figures for the plain GT3 are dismal right now because everyone is trying to snap up an RS. And can you really blame them?

As a youth when the 993 TT came out I always thought that if I could ever own a turbo it would be that one. Then the 996 came out and I thought the same. Then the 997.1 and now the 997.2! When will I put my foot down?

 

mmm.. My all time love would be the 3.6L Metzger 964 Turbo..with the tail and fat **** wheel arches.....Ohhhhhhh How I love thee......
