A system is only as good as is the whole sum of its parts......

If you're not tuning the engine management to make use of the aftermarket part
it's probably not doing much regardless of what your ears hear or your placebo butt dyno feels...

if you decide on a Stage II setup...it includes an Stage I ECU/M tune.

I own a couple of motorbikes. I changed the exhaust on my Harley for the sound purpose only. Definitely hurt the power performance...but I'm not racing the Harley.

A Porsche TT as a super car is a different animal entirely. If you're going to modify I recommend doing it proper justice if you do the exhaust don't skip the 1st stage.
Good info Serpentene, thank you. I wasn't trying to increase the parts longevity with the aftermarket exhaust, but rather inquired about the exhaust's properties. Since I am thinking about buying a used FVD exhaust I was wondering if they get beaten after some time and loose some of their properties. I am primarily buying it to change the sound but wouldn't like to spend the money on something that would have no resale value later. Someone on this forum mentioned that their exhaust is not the same as when they bought it new, unfortunately I can't find that post nor could I understand what exactly has changed over time. In any case, I really appreciate your input since I don't have nearly as much knowledge on this subject as you do, and as I should have probably.

All exhausts will mellow slightly over time as carbon builds up inside, even stock, probably in the order of 5% sound reduction.

And does the mileage on it matter and how can you verify it? Do they loose some of their properties over time (sound change, hp gain etc.) anybody?<!-- google_ad_section_end --> <!-- / message -->
Cikastef,

M&M manufacture's our exhaust for us in Germany. Here is a little more about them...

They produce the Cup/CupS/RSR exhaust's for Motorsports as well.

Mileage should not be an issue at all these are extremely high quality systems. They only change in sound slightly with carbon build up but it is hardly noticeable. You will still have this sound...

Power will not change.

Call me directly if you would like to discuss it. 800-274-2220 Ext. 14

Thanks,
Rhonda
