Opinions: Higher miles orig. owner vs. lower miles indy dealer
Hey guys, I am considering a couple different 997 TTs and am looking for opinions on the following.
If EVERYTHING else was the same would you choose a car with 11000 miles but is owned by the original owner (private sale) who seems to be a porschephile or a car that has 6000 miles but shows 2 owners and is at an independant dealer that hasn't given me a great vibe.
Neither car is CPO'd.
Thanks!

Assuming everything else is same (price, options, etc.), I'd go with the one owner option....to top it off sounds like you didn't get a warm and fuzzy with the dealer anyways.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
Original owner, especially if he is a car guy. The independent dealer car is just a commodity (think cold start joy-rides) but the one owner car could very possibly have been the guy's baby.
Well the 5000 miles isn't that big a deal, especially if you plan to drive the car.
I try to avoid most independant dealers, for higher end cars.
Thats just me though. Private or a Porsche dealer.
The only concern with private.
I notice your a fellow Canadian.
If you are looking in the states, a private sale might cause some delays
bringing the car back to Canada. If the seller doesn't have title in hand.
If his bank has it, and he is using your payment to pay the bank, it might delay you getting it.

Thanks for the responses guys - some good points and kind of confirming what my gut was telling me.
Just trying to quantify what (if anything) the 5000 miles is worth to me.
Thanks again

Original owner .. get the car inspected and have the DME scan to detect engine over rev history.
I would pass on the low mile two owner car. If two people said good bye to it in 6K miles then they may have had a valid reason.
