I know in total it was 2 miles of runway, with a straight, a u bend and a longer straight with a laser trap at the end and enough room for braking.

As soon as all the results are posted I will let you all know what they were and I will find out how long the distance was from exiting the bend to the laser trap.
Thank you!!
BTW, fantastic pictures too!!

bit of both. start from a full stop, but as mentioned, there's a big bend and then you do your fastest time exiting this bend, which technically makes it a rolling start.

VMAX has had lots of events over the years; not that i've been to any, but do a youtube search, or check out pistonheads for lots of info. some 6speeders such as AdamT or LeonS or GuyR have joined if not won a couple of these events in the past.

i don't think you see quite the monster HP cars at VMAX as you would say, at the Texas Mile. by "monster" i mean 1,000+HP Supras or TT FGT's or TT Lambos or Vipers. though the 9ff's in the above pic suggest that the HP's have been creeping up now.

no offense meant to the UK guys-- i could be wrong. just basing my info on stuff i've read and watched on the web.

Quite right about a bit of both and the BHP.

BUT this year there were 850hp RS4's, 700 bhp RUF, 9ff cars with 850 & 1000 & 1127 bhp so there was a few high powered cars this time.

SOME of the VMAX RESULTS!!

Bend to speed trap is about 1.3 miles I was told.

http://pistonheads.com/gassing/topic...57908&nmt=VMAX Armageddon Attendees - Estimates & Actual Speeds

Here are some that are not listed and still need to be confirmed.

9FF GT9R with 1127hp - 222mph on 2nd run
9FF 996tt convetable with 1000hp - 222mph with roof up and 210mph with roof down
9FF GT850 with 850hp - 207mph
RUF CTR3 - 199mph
997 GT2 RStuning/cargraphic 660bhp - 196mph
LP670 SV - 194mph
SLR 722 - 193mph

So for me to run 193mph and keep up with the big boys toys makes me very proud of my car epecially having a passenger on every run and nearly a full tank!

Now the next goal would be to break the 200mph

193? I don't think I will ever be close to that speed. Congrats and thanks for posting.

Was this distance considered enough for every car to achieve its true max speed? If so, was something wrong with the CTR3? Its max speed is supposed to be 235 mph? How does it look in person? http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring...s/ruf-ctr3.htm

CTR3 Needed shorter ratio gearing. He said he changed into 6th @ 192

The other 9ff cars apparently went accross the line bouncing off of the limiters so had more in them

There was not enough distance for the RUF, it's gearing is suited for German Autobahn's, BUT the owner did say RUF is making him a shorter 4th, 5th, 6th.
