Best exhaust for a cab
The dual can tubi street has zero drone, any system with joints after the cats is prone to drone, the tubi verion 2 single can is no exception. The trick is that all the joints have to be perfect in fit and seal. If you feel exhaust gas puffing out at idle with your hand around the junction/clap(safely), it will drone.
Oh, btw, Europipe has parts supplied such as new gaskets, new turbo studs and nuts (which you need), the numerous very special tools and spanners (which you need) all which make the removal and installation so so much easier, plus other handy little items supplied for install and, the instructions all go toward clearly separating the two brands and the price you pay. The EP1 really does look like it belongs on a car of this value whereas the Tubi is just another nice aftermarket product. And, thats not saying Tubi street is junk by any stretch, its just that it certainly looks like it alongside the europipe product...sorry but it really does. Just take EP's heatsheilding for eg, Tubi doesnt have any at all. Yep I have em both and am therefore sadly qualified to make that evaluation....got to call it the way it is. The tubi also didnt make the car go any better at all wheras the europipe has a clear performance benefit. They also show the full specs and gains on their site too. This excersise has served as a very clear example of "one getting exactly what one pays for".

Now, maybe im still too young and my hearing is too good
.and when im older and a bit deafer then it may be all good
.My tubi street has no gas leakage whatsoever and when the system warms up it has a drone....no question. The drone is not super bad, but bad enough to get to you. Some days it is ok.. some it is downright annoying. My wife certainly hates it and thats saying something as she loved the loud sound of my previous C2S with full tubi.... no problems there
.
Thanks guys. I have tinnitus, so drones are out. I even hear a little from the stocker @ 2-3K. The annoying part about my tinnitus is that it "notches" out 4-6K KHz pretty bad, so other noises appear more pronounced outside of that range. The hard part about buying one of these is knowing how they will mix with my driving style in a cab, top up/down.
Sorry I wish that was the case TT Surgeon but it does. If it didnt I certainly wouldnt be changing it. I've got better things to do with my money than making EP richer. I also heard from a very reliable source that the earlier dual can system drones worse than the new single can system.

.I switched to the fvd because I wanted something slightly louder, without drone, which it delivers.
I'll bet if you check those v band clamps on the tubi they will be loose. In any regard, EP is a fine exhaust and I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

.I still hold my ground as being the best sounding exhaust for the Cab; or even the Coupe. Best of luck in your search.
David,
Take a look at our 2.5 "quiet" X-cellerator crossflow system. - it features an internal cross-flow design for a fantastic exotic, drone free sound. It's a perfect fit for your requirements.
Here are a couple of links to more information - read TD997TT's comments, he just installed one and loves it - no drone:

Well, just got a FVD sound for a good price used, with 2K miles on it. Here's hoping it gets here in one piece. I'll update the thread once I get it on! Thank you for all your replies guys, going to rep you
I just put the Tubi Street on my '09 cab. Absolutely no drone and amazing sound IMO. For me, it's just the right balance between sounding loud enough but not too loud to **** off the neighbors. Huge difference compared to the anemic stock exhaust. Even when it's too cold to put the top down here in Toronto, I still drive with one of the rear windows down to listen to the beautiful sound!
Best of luck!
Best of luck!
Sorry to disagree with you as well, I had the dual can tubi street on my car for a year, there was absolutely zero drone, and I am extremely sensitive to droning. In fact I miss it! I sold it to NeilM, who also reports no droning at all.
