Wheel hop at 80-90mph?
Wheel hop at 80-90mph?
I need some input from the experts here. During WOT in 4th gear, I am experiencing what seems like wheel hop (axle tramp) as I accelerate. The wheel hop is not as pronounced like what you experience during a hard stand still launch. It is very suttle, yet it is there. It does it about 3 times during acceleration and goes away. The overboost was engaged, with PSM on. Approximate starting speed was around 75 mph. The traction control light flickers for a split second and then goes away. I tried this with PSM off and it doesn't do it anymore. What is my car doing here?
I have exactly the same mods as you and have the same sensation when the PSM is turned on.
I don't think I can do it in 4th though -- could be your 20" wheels having trouble hooking up with asphalt while trying to negotiate wheel spin with the traction control system.

Cool. I guess nothing to worry about then...

Or because you're on 20's it could a mismatch between front and rear diff's throwing the PSM system off.

I highly doubt it's because I'm making too many horses.. Many cars out there making way more than my car is..
